When:  Tuesday, November 29, 7:00 to 8:30 PM Where:  Trinity Church in the Fortune Room In September, HMP held a community meeting to determine if the neighborhood association was in favor of developing a pocket park within HMP boundaries. Association members voted overwhelmingly in favor of an HMP pocket park! Tips to Reduce Crime

Several things that HMP residents can do to reduce their chances of being crime victims include these tips from major law enforcement agencies: Light the outside of your home to make it more visible to your neighbor. Outside motion detector lights can make it almost impossible for a burglar to enter without being seen. Make sure all your exterior doors have good locks: At least dead-bolt locks with a minimum one-inch throw. Make sure outside doors are solid: 1¾ inch metal or hardwood. Pocket Park Meeting Results

Now let’s get to work on a plan that will put the park in Historic Meridian Park! By an overwhelming majority vote (30 in favor, 6 dissenting), the HMPNA membership voted in favor of establishing a pocket park within neighborhood boundaries. Thanks to everyone who came out to our community meeting on September 14 to listen to the presentations and be part of the discussion. Fall Alley Clean-Up

The fall alley clean up is Saturday, October 1.  Volunteers are asked to meet at the roundabout at 9:00 AM for the event.  If you are able, please plan to lend a hand.  Everyone in the neighborhood benefits from clean alleys.  Whatever time you have to assist is appreciated.  If you are unable to volunteer the entire time, stay as long as your schedule permits.
