HMPNA Holiday Party

When: Sunday, December 4, 5:00 to 8:00 PM
Where: Doug Day’s Residence, 210 E. 33rd Street

HMPNA will provide some delicious catered noshes! Please bring your favorite holiday dish or treat to share. There will be live music, a sing along, drinks and cheer for all! A SPECIAL GUEST (“S.C.”) will arrive at 7:00 PM.

If you would like Santa to present your child(ren) a gift that night at the party, please bring a wrapped present for each of your children with the child’s name clearly and securely labeled on the gift. Nothing too large or
expensive, please. Doug will have a bag on his porch starting the morning of December 4th. Please discreetly place the gift in that bag. When Santa arrives, he will put the gifts in his Santa bag and ho ho ho his way into
the party. Santa will then call the children by name to receive their presents. It is impressive!

We are also looking for someone to help bring a Kwanzaa celebration to the party this year and for volunteers to help setup and cleanup the night of the party. Anyone knowledgeable about Kwanzaa or who would like to volunteer should

Summer BBQ CANCELLED

Due to the expected heat index this coming weekend, the annual summer BBQ scheduled for Saturday has been cancelled.

Cajun Brunch and New Neighbor Reception in May

HMP residents joined together to welcome new neighbors at the annual Cajun Brunch and New Neighbor Reception in May. Residents were treated to fine Cajun-inspired food and drinks, enjoyed music, and had great conversations. A brief neighborhood meeting was held to discuss business and personally welcome each of HMP’s newest and youngest neighbors. The following people were welcomed to the neighborhood:

December 5 Holiday Party

Please join your neighbors at HMP’s annual Holiday Party and Pitch-in on Sunday, December 5 (location and event time TBD). Santa will pay a visit and there will be coloring activities for children. Please bring your favorite holiday dish for your family to share: appetizers, salads, side dishes, or desserts. The neighborhood will provide the drinks and table service.

Cocktail Mixer

Mix, mingle, and meet your HMP neighbors at this fall’s cocktail mixer. This special neighborhood reception will be held Saturday, October 23 at 7:30 pm, at 3363 Washington Boulevard.

This adult-friendly event will include hors d’oeurves and a cash bar. Stop by and join us as we kick off the holiday season!

Wine Tasting

In response to our hot summer days, HMP hosted a wine tasting event focused on chilled wines on August 29. Our neighbor Chris Freeze, who is a wine expert for 21st Amendment, selected the wines and led us through the tasting.
The end-of-summer event was held at the home of Lamar and Jean Richcreek on Pennsylvania Street. The neighborhood extends its sincere appreciation to Babs Button and Jean Richcreek for planning the event.

Summer BBQ

A poor weather forecast didn’t stop neighbors from bringing favorite summer dishes and gathering at Historic Meridian Park’s annual Summer BBQ & Pitch-in on July 19. Thankfully, for the first time in 3 years, the party did not need to be moved indoors due to inclement weather.

Christy Krieg’s home on Washington Boulevard was the location for the popular summer event. The neighborhood extends its appreciation to Christy for hosting the event and all volunteers who helped with set-up, clean-up and take-down.

Summer BBQ and Pitch-In Set for Sunday, July 31

Historic Meridian Park’s Summer BBQ and Pitch-In will be held at 3346 N. Washington Blvd. from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. The neighborhood association will provide hamburgers and hot dogs while residents are invited to bring their favorite dishes to the popular annual event. A magician will join us to entertain the children (and adults too!). Back-up arrangements have been made to have the event at an alternate location if there is rain.

December Holiday Party and Pitch-in

The annual Holiday Party and Pitch-in was held on December 6 at Jillian’s downtown. Despite a change in venue and being held outside of the neighborhood, the family-friendly event proved to be just as popular as ever.
In addition to the social event, a quick business session was held to elect officers for Historic Meridian Park’s 2010 board of directors.

The neighborhood extends its gratitude to Wade Clark and Jillian’s for hosting the event and providing food and games for everyone to enjoy!

FETE Celebration Welcomes Neighbors

On October 9th from 3:30-6pm, St. Richard’s School will host its annual FETE Celebration on the school’s soccer field. And we’re hoping neighborhood families will come by for the games, food, prizes, and fun! T ickets are sold on-site at an affordable cost of 3 tickets for a buck or 30 tickets for $10. All games run only one to two tickets and are run by St. Richard’s Middle School students! Proceeds benefit the school’s Teacher Classroom Grant Program. We respectfully ask that all children be accompanied by an adult. We hope to see you at the 2009 FETE Celebration.
