Summer BBQ
A poor weather forecast didn’t stop neighbors from bringing favorite summer dishes and gathering at Historic Meridian Park’s annual Summer BBQ & Pitch-in on July 19. Thankfully, for the first time in 3 years, the party did not need to be moved indoors due to inclement weather. Christy Krieg’s home on Washington Boulevard was the location for the popular summer event. The neighborhood extends its appreciation to Christy for hosting the event and all volunteers who helped with set-up, clean-up and take-down.

Historic Meridian Park’s Summer BBQ and Pitch-In will be held at 3346 N. Washington Blvd. from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. The neighborhood association will provide hamburgers and hot dogs while residents are invited to bring their favorite dishes to the popular annual event. A magician will join us to entertain the children (and adults too!). Back-up arrangements have been made to have the event at an alternate location if there is rain.

The annual Holiday Party and Pitch-in was held on December 6 at Jillian’s downtown. Despite a change in venue and being held outside of the neighborhood, the family-friendly event proved to be just as popular as ever. In addition to the social event, a quick business session was held to elect officers for Historic Meridian Park’s 2010 board of directors. The neighborhood extends its gratitude to Wade Clark and Jillian’s for hosting the event and providing food and games for everyone to enjoy!

On October 9th from 3:30-6pm, St. Richard’s School will host its annual FETE Celebration on the school’s soccer field. And we’re hoping neighborhood families will come by for the games, food, prizes, and fun! T ickets are sold on-site at an affordable cost of 3 tickets for a buck or 30 tickets for $10. All games run only one to two tickets and are run by St. Richard’s Middle School students! Proceeds benefit the school’s Teacher Classroom Grant Program. The annual Fall Festival, with its accompanying Chili Cook-off and Best Cornbread competitions, will be held on Sunday, September 20 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at 3257 N. Pennsylvania St. Residents are invited to bring their favorite dishes and HMPNA will provide beverages and table service.
