Trash

A trash tote should have been left for you by the previous resident of your house. Trash day is Friday, there may be on a sliding schedule during weeks with US holidays in which case pickup is Saturday. Please have your trash tote in the alley behind your home or in front of your home (whichever is applicable) by 7 AM. Don’t forget to bring the tote back inside your yard at the end of the day.  Also, help out the neighborhood by closing any open toters so that water (and the mosquitoes that breed in water) doesn’t collect in the bottom.

Heavy trash pickup is the second Friday of the month. No more than two items are allowed per month and should be placed in the alley near where you place your trash totes. If your heavy trash is missed, please contact the Mayor’s Action Line at 327-4MAC (327-4622).

Recycling

Curbside recycling is available in Indianapolis for a monthly fee from Republic Services.

A Keep Indianapolis Beautiful (KIB) recycling bin is available in the parking lot to the south of St. Richard’s School/Trinity Episcopal Church.  This recycling bin will accept more than the average recycling bin including cardboard and phone books.  See the side of the bin for details. For more information about KIB’s Recycle Indianapolis Program, contact (317) 264-7555 or visit KIB.
