No doubt that the Home Tour highlighted just how important the pocket park has become to HMP. The park was a place where the children came to play while their parents worked the tour, neighbors and visitors alike came to the park to listen to Mark Herner play music, and to purchase a cold beverage or just sit and take a break. It was a gathering place where neighbors could really see how special this park is becoming to the community.

Those who visited the park will also note that there is still plenty of work to be done and ongoing maintenance is necessary. The park needs continued support form the neighbors and thanks to Joyce Moore, Cassie Mehlman Rhys, and Sharon Gamble, there is a new way to support the park. HMP has launched a crowdfunding site at https://www.ioby.org/project/historic-meridian-park.

Donors are encouraged to check out the page and familiarize yourself with the site so you can counsel those you are sending this information to on how it works. There is a countdown calendar so you can see how much time we have and what has been raised at any point in time.

As always, if you are more comfortable financially supporting the park the old-fashioned way, please see any Board member with your tax exempt contribution or you may send it to the MFCDC with HMP Pocket Park in the memo line.
