Looking for a way to get involved? Whether you have an hour each month or a few Saturdays each year, there’s a place for you.

Keep Indianapolis Beautiful (KIB) Block Captains help keep their block litter-free by spending a little time each week picking up trash. Volunteers receive cleanup supplies, an Adopt-A-Block T-shirt, invitations to captain meetings, and may qualify for free trees, perennial plants, and neighborhood beautification grant opportunities.

Urban Times Delivery Volunteers are needed to distribute the monthly newspaper throughout the neighborhood. Another volunteer is also needed to coordinate delivery of the papers to block captains. The time commitment is small, but it helps keep neighbors informed.

Neighborhood Social Events rely on volunteers to set up, greet guests, clean up afterward, promote events, or even help organize new activities. Whether behind the scenes or on the front lines, every helping hand makes a huge difference.

Neighborhood Cleanups are held twice each year. Volunteers help clear litter from streets and alleys, clean storm drains, pull weeds, care for common spaces, and dispose of collected trash. Even an hour of your time helps make the neighborhood cleaner and safer for everyone.

Pocket Park Maintenance continues thanks to dedicated neighbors who mow the grass and empty trash bins. Volunteers are always welcome to help with weeding, picking up litter, and keeping the park inviting for everyone.

Roundabout Beautification is also on the horizon. The board is developing a low-maintenance landscaping plan, and ongoing volunteers will be needed once planting begins.

If you’d like to volunteer or learn more about any of these opportunities, watch the neighborhood Facebook page or contact the HMPNA Board at board@historicmeridianpark.org.
