It’s that time of year: The time when houses go on the market, long-time neighbors and friends move on, and new faces begin arriving. Historic Meridian Park currently has several homes for sale and a few have already found new owners. That means there are new neighbors to welcome, new friendships to make, and new faces who may soon be attending neighborhood events. It’s an exciting time to welcome everyone who has recently made HMP home and hope “old timers” will introduce themselves when they see a new neighbor settling in.
For new neighbors, and as a reminder to those who may have forgotten, the HMPNA Board makes every effort to keep everyone informed through multiple communication methods:
- The Urban Times (UT) is distributed monthly by block captains, who are volunteers responsible for delivering the newsletter to their blocks. The UT includes neighborhood news, upcoming events and community highlights.
- When special events or important announcements are coming up, volunteers, often board members, may also distribute flyers door-to-door.
- This website.
- For those who use social media, HMP’s private Facebook group and Instagram pages provide another way to stay connected and up to date.
- An email distribution list to reach neighbors who may not be active on social media.
- And if you happen to spot a yard sign around the neighborhood, take a look. These signs are another way the board shares timely information about upcoming events and activities.
Everyone has a preferred way of receiving information, which is why the board uses multiple methods rather than relying on just one. The goal is simple: no neighbor should have to wonder what’s happening in HMP. Whether you get your news from the UT, social media, email, a flyer, or a yard sign, we hope you’ll stay connected, get involved and, most importantly, help welcome the new neighbors who are becoming part of this community.
